Authorship and review
We use AI extensively, but try to do so in a way that is transparent and responsible. To that end, each page carries visible provenance about when and how the content was produced.
What each label means
A human wrote this with fingers on a keyboard. AI may have been used in the review process or in individual sentences, but the overwhelming majority of content comes from fingers on a keyboard. Typos likely.
Text was generated automatically from data or evaluations within our system. This is often the case for evaluations, or accuracy reports, both of which use code to assemble text that is human readable.
An AI wrote the content, but a human has reviewed the current published revision. We often use this for rote tutorials and documentation.
An AI wrote the content and the current published revision has not been reviewed by a human. This is almost always a temporary state.
How review status works
We have safeguards as part of our code review process that ensures that any time we update the text of page content, we update the edit date ane the authorship label on the content. By default, any change initiated by an agent to a page results in the AI-generated label being applied - so any time you see another label than that, it means a human is telling you that they wrote or reviewed it.
